Company invites performers, whether emerging or established, to volunteer their time and talent in order to support South London charities through fundraising performances.
"Not only does this reinvest positivity," says Coda "but it also promotes a core 360CC principle of making 'money-with-a-mission'."
One local business man who is committed to the aims of 360CC is Parag Prasad. The 35 year-old Business Coach from "ActionCOACH" is working voluntarily behind-the-scenes to help Coda plan her marketing and connect to local business people.
Parag says "I am so impressed and inspired by Coda and her outlook that I provide assistance with anything that will help achieve the goals of the project. At the moment that means raising awareness, in much the same way that I help small businesses market themselves. It's very rewarding to use my skills to benefit such a worthwhile project."
Coda, herself, welcomes support from
community-minded businesses and individuals to help with future funding to fuel her vision of creating and delivering community outreach projects, encouraging an increased sense of belonging and connection, as well as engaging everyone with the feel-good factor of giving.
One such way to do this is by going to see
"The Set-Up", 360CC's debut production, at "The Space" on The Isle of Dogs. It forms part of "Enterprise 2008", a festival which, this year focuses on the relationship between audience and stage in live performances. Penned by Coda, it is "an intergalactic love story which harmonizes multimedia technology with more traditional art-forms of dance, acting and music to add new texture to the audience experience." As for the twist, she remains tight-lipped, but does reveal that the piece is "interactive."
Yet, the greatest focus of the event is that of fundraising for their first beneficiary "The Marsha Phoenix Memorial Trust", which will receive all ticket proceeds. Based in South London and founded by community cornerstone, Mrs. Sybil Phoenix MBE, it provides supported housing for young women from 16 to 24 years old, helping them to develop into contributing members of society. MPMT Director, Rebecca Long, comments that "At present, our main hostel needs refurbishment...and these performances will contribute directly to this goal."
So, why not set aside an hour on April 26th and 27th from 7:30p.m and for a mere £8 (£6), not only will you become part of the
360CC Theatre Company experience but you’ll also leave with the knowledge that by supporting the cause, you will have contributed to the future empowerment of otherwise homeless young women. Now what better reason for applause is there?!
