Jamaica Goes on Tour! What started out as a real estate based campaign is
quickly turning into a movement, a movement to better Jamaica and its
people.
THE CONCEPT The BUY BACK JAMAICA concept stemmed from a single source: the
Caribbean Real Estate Investment Fund (CAREIF Ltd). The BUY BACK
JAMAICA concept, which was coined from the fact that laws that
formally allowed all Jamaicans access to use beaches openly over the
last 15-20 years are being largely ignored. Representatives of CAREIF
have stated that there is a large influx of foreign investors who are
purchasing beachfront properties and privatizing them, leaving them
in accessible to the public. The concept then grew into something
that was more important.
THE BEGINNING OF A MOVEMENT
What started out as a real estate based campaign quickly reflected a
very simple principle; Jamaicans who believe in building and
maintaining a strong national economy coupled with national pride
must come together to proactively do so. It was now more than about
land it was about owning Jamaica, and its productive capacity is the
only way to a strong economic future for all our people living here
as well as internationally. This was now an opportunity to build
strong bonds which will strengthen Jamaica's presence as well as
influence wherever we reside or work in the world. A strong Jamaican
global presence will occur when we have a strong Jamaican economy and
quality of life. The Buy Back Jamaica plan and Tour will achieve the
aforementioned primary objective. Mr. Anthony Tharpe, CEO of CAREIF
Ltd has stated that "It's very important for all our people living in
Jamaica and in the Diaspora to understand the philosophy behind
CAREIF's 6-city Trade Tour. It's really about forming alliances
between ourselves as a people; therefore creating our own Jamaican
community both online as well as in actuality."
BENEFITS THROUGH PARTNERSHIP
To ensure that the campaign benefits every Jamaican who participates,
CAREIF LTD has structured the process to financially benefit every
person who forms this alliance and partnership between individuals
and a corporate body, long into their future. The companies and
organizations being invited to participate in and on the tour, to six
major cities; Miami, Atlanta, Washington, New York, Toronto and
London, will have a major role to play in exposing the Jamaican
community to all areas of their immediate concern. The tour therefore
seeks to cover economic, social, as well as security issues in the
land of our birth. It will bring to the Diaspora, not just the
product, services and opportunities available on the island or
throughout the Caribbean, but the means to get involved in a manner
consistent to the empowerment of all who participate.
The Tour will
help you to build your country either from a business or charitable
perspective. CAREIF LTD has also invited other charitable
organizations to support this tour. By exposing the available areas
that Jamaicans living abroad can participate to reduce poverty and or
emergency situations within the island Jamaicans can now identify
where and how they may participate. This tour which will be marketed
to over 5 million Jamaican nationals will provide an opportunity for
businesses to promote their services in these cities. CAREIF will
also offer participants, links on their website as long as your
organization seeks to contribute positively to Jamaicans living
whether here in Jamaica or in the Diaspora. This tour is for you to
discover and make your contribution to the progress of the people of
Jamaican; of whom you are apart, and the Caribbean as a whole,
starting firstly at home. CEO of CAREIF Ltd, Mr. Anthony Tharpe has
stated that "This is the kind of partnership between industry and
people that will positively build the economy. This is an opportunity
to build strong bonds which will strengthen our presence as well as
influence wherever we reside or work in the world.”
