Were you there? email us your story or comment. Me and my friends were caught up in the violence, as were many others, and we couldn't get out of it at first. It was a shame as we had not seen any trouble all day. - Brenda South London. I was there with my boyfriend, who was almost mistakenly targeted as a troublemaker at one stage!!Bottles were flying about and it was very chaotic, but we managed to slip out. - Cheryl. The way I saw it was that the police were blocking off roads, and thats what sparked the trouble. People were getting frustrated. - D Man I forgot we had so many police. They never seem to be around when you need them throughout the year!!! - Parka Wot a lot of dam fool headed pickney!! They are a complete embarassment to our community, everybody enjoying de carnival vibez and they come in like this. - M.B W2 The trouble was started by a large group of black kids, i'm sure that these kids are causing trouble all year round, and it has nothing to do with rasicm on a level of the original carnival riots in the late 50's, its just youth/thug mentality. All communities have people like this, just look at the white footballl hooligans!! - John Hunt These are our lost boys, they have no understanding of life and the world around them, i hear they were shouting out postcodes.. ?? they are competly mindless. - Mrs Johnson I feel the police were to blame, they were confrontational with innocent revellers, and there were too many roads closed. Obviously there were some good officers, but on the whole the atmosphere they brought to the event had it consequences. - A Green W10 The end of carnival riot this year is simply a reflection of the state of relations between Britains youth and the police.
